Within Wood County, the Red Cross only has a few disaster volunteers. Disaster volunteers most often respond to home fires. Local volunteers may not be too busy but having individuals trained and able to respond to an emergency is key. Being able to help friends, families and neighbors strengthens a community.

To help build resiliency in your community, would you consider serving as a volunteer with the Red Cross? If you have any questions regarding these opportunities, or the Red Cross in general, please contact Lee Borofka, Volunteer Partnership and Community Outreach contact with the American Red Cross – Wisconsin Region & Western Upper Michigan, at lee.borofka@redcross.org.
