Restoring this generation to reach the next!
One of the strengths of our church is reaching out to an increasing number of young families (many just exploring who Jesus is) and being a place we might experience restoration together and then be equipped to walk alongside others like us, who are now starting off on the same path that we’ve just walked. And so, it’s a multiplying effect - God is about the business of restoring us in our brokenness, so we can in turn help restore others! A verse we’ve often cited around here the past few years summarizes it well, “Our children will also serve him. Future generations will hear about the wonders of the Lord. His righteous acts will be told to those not yet born.” – Ps. 22:30-31
Our 3-fold process to fulfill our mission - how we do ministry around here:
Gathering to glorify god
Becoming followers of Jesus
Loving our community and world
At Faith, we WORSHIP together on Sundays, GROW in groups (where we can "have a friend & be a friend" on our journey with Jesus), and GO live missional lives, sharing Jesus' love with our neighbors, near & far.
OUR CORE VALUES
Our 6 values which inform why we do what we do:
TOTAL RELIANCE ON GOD
…demonstrated by depending on God in all we do, believing that without God the best we can do is fail, but with God all things are possible. (Prov. 3:5-6)
HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWERED MINISTRY
…demonstrated by preparing for excellence in ministry, not relying on our own strengths, talents or abilities, but on the Holy Spirit to move in our midst and accomplish His will through us. (1 Thess. 1:5)
…demonstrated by creating a healthy ‘family’ atmosphere into which others are warmly invited and accepted, where humility, gentleness, & empathy are consistently lived out in a caring community. (Col. 3:12-16)
…demonstrated by restoring God’s image and purpose in lives through providing a ‘refuge of hope’ where Christ’s compassion for a broken people is modeled and renewal is experienced. (Is. 61:1-3)
…demonstrated by experiencing continual growth as we become passionate followers of Jesus Christ. (2 Cor. 3:18)
…demonstrated by intentionally leading others to Christ by focusing our time & resources towards the needs & interests of children, youth, and adults who are outside the church both locally and globally. (Matt. 18:10-14)
While Faith Fellowship is an autonomous church (meaning we govern our own affairs), we do strongly appreciate the vital partnerships that we have in ministry. Locally, we value partnering with other like-minded churches and ministries in our community for increased impact together.
Regionally and internationally, we value our interdependent connection with a movement of 1300+ gospel-centered churches with which we voluntarily affiliate, known as Converge Worldwide. This group of churches is committed to help strengthen our own church, as well as start new churches together both here in central Wisconsin and around the world.
Over the past decade, our local group of Converge pastors (LEAD Team) has planted several new churches together in Weston, Wausau, Merrill, and Stevens Point. In partnership with Converge, Faith Fellowship looks forward to launching a new church plant in Marshfield this next year. Our church planter, Casey Schifelbine, hopes to be "on the ground" in Marshfield spring '18!
