An Outpouring of Love - Afghan Refugee Relief

  • Faith Fellowship 217 West McMillan Street Marshfield, WI 54449 United States (map)

Hey Faith Fellowship family & friends! Through Converge Great Lakes, we have been connected with a Christian US Army Medic who is on the ground inside Fort McCoy and there is an enormous need as 13,000 Afghan refugees are now living there.  Most of these people, including families with children, had to flee with nothing.  Their greatest need right now are electric kettles and tea. The Afghan culture highly values hospitality and, for them, the pouring of tea symbolizes HOME and welcome and comfort.

We want to give comfort, the love of Jesus, and a little taste of home to these displaced people so that they can make a simple cup of TEA.  Scripture tells us to show love and mercy to the strangers in our land and as Christians we understand what it’s like to live in a place that is not our home.

This is a great opportunity to give a practical, tangible OUTPOURING OF LOVE to people so in need right now. Please consider donating the following to help share the kindness, generosity and love of Christ to these displaced people.

  • Electric tea kettles

  • Black and green tea

  • Sugar

  • Granola bars

We will have a table set up in the lobby on Oct. 3rd and Oct. 10th where you can your drop off your gifts.  If you have questions, contact Cindy Streckert or Mandi and Josh Bernitt.
